Junior Golf Coaching in Essex and London - Getting Kids into Golf
Learn Golf for Life - getting children into golf.
At 16 years of age, Oliver Fisher became the youngest person ever to play for Great Britain & Ireland in the Walker Cup.
At 17 he was ranked Number 1 Amateur in the world and at 18 he became the youngest ever Briton to gain his European Tour Card. I’m sure you’ll see a lot more of him in the future.
These credentials are awesome but they are also no fluke. Since he was 9 years old, he has been coached by Chris Jenkins at Crowlands Heath Golf Club.
In this time, not only has Oliver’s golf swing been carefully sculpted, but using Long Term Athletic Development (LTAD) principles, his body has been developed to support this wonderful movement. Strength, flexibility, balance and co-ordination are all fundamentals of building great golfers of the future and our “5 Stage Development Plan” covers all these aspects.
Chris believes it is very important to develop each area at the right age and time in a child's life to make sure they reach their full potential, whatever that might be. Enjoyment and exercise is part of any kids introduction into sport.
This means building co-ordination, balance, flexibility and strength from a young age as well as good technique on the golf course. These fundamentals are proven and we are proud to have developed not just Oliver but many of the country’s best players using our Junior Development Principles.
Chris is an Advanced PGA Professional and is trained to give you the best when it comes to learning or improving your golf game.
Junior Golf coaching for children in Essex and London
This is a fun introduction for children aimed at making golf a fun game to play and one which they would like to take further. We include basic co-ordination and balance games to help cement good basic skills needed for golf.
We use the Golf
Foundation Tri-Golf Game to help us to do this which makes golf even more fun. This is even taken into junior schools as an Outreach Program to give everyone a chance to try this fun game. Juniors also enroll on the Junior Golf Passport at this level.
Junior Golf LEVEL 2
This is the club coaching stage where juniors from our Outreach Program are
invited to take part in coaching at our junior academy.
This is more of an introduction to golf on the range and the course and
includes balance, co-ordination and
stretching exercises for golf. This is to make the connection between golf and fitness in the same way you would in any other sport. The Junior Golf Passport is ongoing at this level.
Junior Golf LEVEL 3
Juniors are invited to become members of Crowlands Heath Golf Club where they play in club competitions, achieve a handicap and have access to a fitness class which includes swiss ball training, co-ordination games and more yoga type stretching.
They start to understand how poor fitness can be detrimental to their golf game and learn to make sure this doesn’t happen. Basic on course tactics sessions are also provided at this stage along with more in-depth technique sessions. The Junior Golf Passport will be completed at this level.
Junior Golf LEVEL 4
Juniors start to play in competitions outside the club around the county and the lower handicaps may have progressed to more national competitions.
We offer more
advanced fitness opportunities and it is here where we assess how serious the junior is going to be. We sift out players who are ready for our Masterclass Level of coaching (level 5).
Junior Golf LEVEL 5 (MASTERCLASS)
These are elite juniors who have achieved County, National and International
recognition.
They receive more
personalized fitness programs and
information on nutrition and tournament scheduling. Detailed individual and group coaching sessions and tournament support is given to help guide them at the top level.
Tri-golf
Now young children can get involved Sport is playing a big part in the Government's plans to get the nation healthy and golf is a great way for people to participate. This is because people of all ages can play the game, including the elderly.
It is for this reason that we use Tri-Golf at a very early age to introduce children to the game, so when it comes to playing golf for real then they will have a great head start.
Tri-Golf is a fun system that includes lots of different games using plastic clubs, balls, cones and targets and can be played inside or out. It teaches many things other than golf including:
Co-ordination
Balance
Fitness
Honesty
Discipline
Arithmetic
Team Work
...To name but a few.
Once the Children have had a taster for golf in this way, the progression can be made to get involved in the real thing with opportunities being made available at local Golf Clubs. If a child takes the game up they can even use it within their GCSE PE at Senior School age.
It is with all these aspects in mind that we offer Tri-Golf sessions to Junior Schools in conjunction with Spring. The children are our future, let's give them a chance to shine in sport with a solid platform from which to spring forward.
Let your kids have all the fun when they learn Junior Golf at Crowlands Heath Golf Academy in Essex, near London, and enjoy the game for life.
Chris will teach the children a technique to get the most out of their game whatever age or standard they might be.
